Due to its native environment, this breed is very hardy and can withstand the harsh Scottish nature with snow and rain. Cows weigh about 550 kg and calves about 850 kg. These animals have a large muscle mass and are considered medium in size. “Aberdeen Angus”  breed is mainly bred for meat. Breed – Simmental

Origin – Switzerland

The main advantage – Disease tolerance

The Simmental breed is a multifaceted breed of cattle that originated in the Simme River Valley in the Bernese Oberland in western Switzerland. These animals have historically been used as dairy, beef and burden animals. It is famous for its rapid growth, especially when given the right amount of feed. They also provide a good weight-to-meat ratio. “Simmental” breed is very resistant to extreme weather conditions. Simmental calves are significantly leaner and heavier than other similar breeds, have less waste, and produce higher marketable yields.
